Chapel of Saint Joseph
This is the Chapel of St. Joseph. In 1643, authorization was requested to build an altar dedicated to St. Joseph. The altarpiece we see today dates back to 1716 and was created by the sculptor Domingo Ferrer. The sculpture of St. Joseph, however, is from a later period; it was crafted by Miquel Thomàs in 1768.
The altarpiece is an ornate structure made of gilded wood, adorned with gold leaf and vibrant colours . Notably, the central painting on the upper section depicts the Transfiguration, a significant event in the life of Christ. During this episode, he under-went a transformation in his physical appearance, revealing his divine nature while he was on Earth.
